What Every Woman Should Know

I congratulate all the women, ladies and girls of Chapel of Restoration on their 14th year anniversary. Since we all know that seven stands for perfection and completion and seven times two is fourteen, then I know in my knowing that on this occasion of our anniversary, The Lord will give us all double perfection in every area of our lives that we are expecting perfection in, in Jesus Name, Amen.
Today, l want to talk to us about what every woman should know. Women are the perfection of God's creation; they are the crown of all that God created. I wonder how this world will look like without a woman, and what it will be without the touch of a woman in it. No woman should look down on herself because you are fearfully and wonderfully made. During my visit to Nigeria, one of the West African countries, I travelled to Kano, one of the States in Nigeria. To my amazement, I hardly saw women on the streets, in the market places, at malls, etc. All I saw were men. Men were the ones in charge of everything. They were the ones selling in the markets, they were the ones in their office settings, they were the ones that occupied the whole city. It made the city look so dull, unkempt and deserted because there was no touch of women in it.
Women are full of beauty. Put a woman in a dirty and deserted place, in a dungeon and give her just one week, she would have turned the whole place to a palace. So no woman should look down on herself but rise up and possess the following attributes and virtues. As you read this, the power that will make you possess your possessions shall be given to you in Jesus Name, Amen.
Self-Awareness -
A good woman should know who she is and accept every part of herself as beautiful. Genesis 1:31b says, “And God saw everything that He had made, and, behold, it was very good.” You are the embodiment of goodness. You must see yourself the way God sees you and not the way people see you. God sees you as good, so see yourself also as good and everything will be good for you. You must have self-awareness, for self-awareness brings self-assurance, which fosters other good traits. To be self-aware means to have the knowledge, to be conscious, to be mindful, to be cognizant, to be informed of who you are. You must have the full knowledge of who you are as a woman. According to 1 Peter 2:9 “you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness---.” You are not ordinary. You have been purchased by the blood; I mean the precious blood of The Lamb. So do not look down on yourself. If your creator did not look down on you, why should you be looking down on yourself?
The Bible says in Genesis 2:20, “And Adam gave names to all cattle, to the fowls of the air, and to every beast of the field----.” Adam named all the animals the Almighty God formed and those names are what we call them till now. What names are you calling yourself? Rise up and give yourself beautiful names. Even when things are not working the way you want them to be, still call yourself beautiful names and those names shall be established in you in Jesus Name, Amen. Psalm 139:14 says “I will praise thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made---.” You are fashioned perfectly without any flaws, without any mistake. You are the exact image of the living God. Move around with this notion in your brain that you are wonderfully made, you are great, the seeds of greatness is in you. As you move around with this mindset, so shall it be for you in Jesus Name, Amen.
Independent -
Independent means someone who does not require anything else to fulfill her sense of self. It means to have confidence in your own life. It constitutes a complete person regardless of whether you are in a relationship or not. This is an important virtue every woman should cultivate. We must learn to be independent, no matter the situation we find ourselves. Esther 2:15 says, Esther required nothing, apart from what was given to her by the Holy Spirit and she was still the choice of the King. Are you independent? We must learn to do things by ourselves and not to depend on anyone except the Holy Spirit. Esther depended on the Holy Spirit for her beauty contest and she won. Who are you depending on?
Many of us women depend so much on our husbands that hardly can we do anything by ourselves. We have put unnecessary burden on them to the extent of sending them to an early grave. What we are supposed to take care of as a woman is what we run to our husbands for. We run to our hubbies for money to buy sanitary towels, under wears, body lotion, makeup items, just to mention a few. Many go to the extent of depending on their hubbies for the so-called "Aso-Ebi". This must not be so. There are some things we must be able to handle as women. Not all the loads should be placed on our hubbies. Remember that God had finished making everything before He made us and He made us to support, to assist, to help, and to be an aid for our husbands and not to put unnecessary loads on their heads. Let us try to be independent; you can bring the best of you out by the help of the Holy Spirit. And as you wait on Him, may He answer you speedily in Jesus Name, Amen. Remember, Esther did not put her load on the people that were asked to take care of the virgins. She required nothing apart from what Haggai, the keeper of the women appointed. We can also borrow a leaf and a well of wisdom from Esther.
Responsible -
Every woman should be responsible. To be responsible means to be accountable for something within one's power. It means to be answerable; it means to be in control. A woman should be counted on in times of trouble and should know how to take care of the problems. They should be able to, by the leading of the Holy Spirit, know what to do when they find themselves in any dilemma. They should not just sit down and start looking for pity parties. They should be able to rise up to the problems by the help of the Holy Spirit and bring them down. When Moses’ mother was faced with the killer newly born baby boys, she hid the child for three good months because she knew she was responsible for the child and she's going to answer and give account one day before her maker. She knew it was in her control either to hide the child or surrender the child to the killer. She saw what other women did not see in their own children, so she violated the law of Pharaoh by hiding the child. What have you given up on concerning your children or your hubby? You are responsible for every action taken by you; there is no situation God cannot turn around. You are one day going to stand before your maker and the righteous Judge will ask you to give account of the children He has blessed you with. Moses’ mother found favor in the sight of her enemies. She was paid for taking care of her son. You will also find such favor in Jesus Name, Amen. Do not lose hope; you are in control. You are in charge so roll the problems to The Holy Spirit.
Kindness
- Every woman should have the virtue of kindness. Kindness is part of the fruits of the Spirit and it is worth having. It leads to trust and affection. Every woman should think of others as much as herself and treat others the way she would like to be treated. In Genesis 18, Abraham saw three visitors before him. He quickly ran to them and treated them nicely. He commanded Sarah his wife to start preparing food for them. Both showed love and kindness to these visitors not knowing they were sent from God. It was at this meeting they received the confirmation of their dream child God had promised them. I pray that as you show love and kindness to people you know and those you do not know, The Almighty God will bring about the fulfillment of all your dreams in Jesus Name, Amen.
Another example of a woman that showed kindness is Lydia. In Acts 16:11-15, she showed love and kindness to some of the disciples of God. She asked them to come into her house to meet and to fellowship there. She showed hospitality, not only to the disciples but also to the people in her community. No good works done is wasted. The Bible says in Galatians 6:9, “Let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Lydia reaped her doings; you will also reap yours if you faint not in Jesus Name, Amen.
A Wholesome Tongue -
A woman who knows how to speak good words is a wise woman and this area poses a challenge to many women. What women lack in physical strength, they make up for in verbal strength. A woman may not have the power to hit back at her husband, but she does it very well with her mouth and the words that proceed out of her mouth. Many women have lost their homes with words spoken in anger. Our words can build or destroy, that is why Proverbs 4:24 says we should put away perversity from our mouth and keep corrupt talk from our lips. We should learn to listen when people are talking to us especially our husbands and also to think before responding to them. Proverbs says the mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life, but violence overwhelms the mouth of the wicked. Let every word you utter bring forth life. When your words are positive, there is no man who would not want to live with you.
These, out of many, are what your Creator has built in you. Do not allow people to look down on you. You are all your world is waiting for to turn things around with your beauty and with the virtues that are created in you. I wish you all the very best in life. God bless you.
